The genesis of Tangerine wigs is due our personal frustration at paying $200 - $250 USD or $400 AUD for seemingly glossy and beautiful “human hair” pieces, only for them to matt, tangle and lose its shine and “natural” colour within a month or two.

We found that the market supplied either still relatively expensive, cheap quality “human hair” wigs or wigs at exorbitant prices for the quality.

We were unsatisfied with Australian wig companies selling wigs for thousands of dollars, with a fraction of the density of US wig makers but double the price.

Our wigs are 250% density, often weighing between 300 grams and 335 grams depending on the wig. This means our wigs are full, luxurious feeling and bouncy, without giving that “wig” look.

Whether you are looking for a medical wig, flexibility with your look or a protective style, the Tangerine difference is clear with soft, tangle free, silky and manageable hair. You can dye, cut and style Tangerine hair just like your own hair.

It is important to take care of your wig to maximise the longevity of its usage.

We recommend that you condition-wash (co-wash) and wash your hair as needed. As your wig does not benefit as much from natural oils from your scalp, we recommend washing less regularly than you do for your natural hair. This generally is a couple of times a month if you wear your hair daily.

Make sure when you do wash your hair, you use a sulfate-free and hydrating shampoo. Gently wash your hair starting from the top and working your way down in a straight movement.

We highly recommend deep conditioning your hair on a monthly basis/after each wash and applying a leave in conditioner. Lastly, we recommend applying a nourishing oil to the ends of your hair on a weekly basis to keep your hair hydrated.

When brushing your hair, we recommend you use a wide tooth comb for any wavy or curly wigs and any natural fibre brush for natural and bone straight wigs. Ensure you start brushing from the bottom and work your way up.

We recommend you sleep with a silk pillow and/or silk bonnet if you choose to sleep with your wig.

When you are not wearing your wig, please store it in a silk bag.

We currently offer medium cap sizes for all of our wigs. Medium cap sizes feature a 22.5 inch circumference is the perfect fit for a majority of our clients.

All of our wig caps include a band and combs to ensure your wig stays in place throughout any activity.

We have confidence in the quality of our wigs and for that reason, all sales are final. All outgoing wigs are meticulously inspected for quality assurance. In the off chance that you receive a defective product, we will offer an exchange for unworn and unused wigs with a notice from you within 48 hours of delivery of your package. All we would need is pictures from you and once approved, you can return the product for an exchange for the same product.

Some key things to know about wigs:

Hair type: There are a lot of wigs out there. You can choose between synethic and human hair. The benefit of purchasing a human hair wig is that it is just like your own hair! You can dye it, style it with heat and looks more natural. Synthetic hair is unable to be dyed or styled with heat and often has that “wig look”.

Hair quality: Not all human hair is equal! Many human hair wigs are made with multiple donors’ hair and not of the highest quality. All of our wigs are from one donor, and have 100% cuticle alignment ensuring tangle free hair even after months of wear.

Cap: Each wig is a set of hair bundles sewn in to a wig cap. Our caps are breathable and feature two combs and a band to keep your wig in place regardless of your level of activity.

Lacefront: Each wig features a 13 × 6 inch lace frontal. Each strand of human hair is hand tied into the lacefront. This gives your wig a more natural look and the flexibility to part your wig from ear to ear, just like you would be able to with your own hair.

Density: The higher the density, the thicker the hair. Tangerine Wigs are 300g to 335g, depending on the wig purchased. This equates to a luxuriously thick and bouncy 250% hair density.

Knots: If you look closely at a lace frontal, you can see where the individual knots of hair are tied in the lace frontal. At Tangerine Wigs, we lightly bleach our knots. Bleaching them lightens them to match the lace so that they look more realistic.
